The best brunch in Toronto’s Gay Village on Saturday or Sunday is SMITH on 553 Church Street.
It’s my go-to Saturday/Sunday brunch spot in Toronto. Whether it’s brunch with my gay boys or when my family comes to visit, SMITH is my top choice for brunch in Toronto.
Not only does SMITH have delicious brunch items, it has character and even a beautiful view up on the top floors.
The bathrooms are gender neutral which I love, and the servers are super nice and also cute.
It’s VERY gay-friendly. I mean, it’s in Toronto’s gay village so it speaks for itself really.
The time I went with my gay bestie Michael, we were given thin vintage newspapers that were actually the brunch menu. Brunch is typically served on Saturdays & Sundays 9am – 4pm and the brunch menu includes the following:
Avacado Toast
Pistachio Waffle
Poached Salmon Nicoise
Quiche
Typical Eggs, Sausage, Toast breakfast
Huevos Rancheros
Croque Monsieur
Brisket Hash
Benedict
Omelettes
You can see their full brunch, lunch, dinner menu here.
SMITH is just a super unique spot in Toronto’s Gay Village.
Every establishment has positive and negative feedback and although I give SMITH a lot of praise, the only downside to the restaurant is that it’s super packed and can get a little crammed during brunch hours as they try to cram as many tables and people into small spaces to accommodate the rush. Therefore, a tip would try to go when it’s not peak brunch hours; so a little early, or a little later.
Let me know if you’ve ever been or plan to go! 🙂
Bon Appetit ladies!
Ryan I’m always looking for great places to eat in Toronto, though my favorite Air bnb is in Cabbagetown so I frequently go to Jet Fuel for a quick breakfast. I’ll try and go to Smith next time because I just love huevos rancheros and nicoise salads!
Smith’s is a must brunch spot! Such a unique atmosphere! If you can get the spot that looks outside, it’s definitely the best to enjoy brunch with a view!
